Warrior Learning

At Dunottar we enable our pupils to achieve spectacular outcomes by encouraging them to exhibit the seven behaviours of 'warrior learners'; aspiration, creativity, tenacity, independence, curiosity, collaboration and inclusivity, preparing them for the fast paced and ever changing world we live in.

🎉 Founder’s Day Celebrations 🎉

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated a very special milestone — 100 years since Dunottar School was founded on 4th May 1926 by Mrs Jessie Elliot-Pyle.

The day began with a special assembly reflecting on the last century of Dunottar’s history while also looking ahead to the future. We were delighted to welcome guest speaker, Dunottar Society member and author, Nazneen Ahmed Pathak, who shared how Dunottar nurtured her talents, challenged her academically, and helped build her confidence during her time as a pupil here.

During the assembly, our spectacular centenary cake, designed and baked by pupils, was cut on stage by our very own Headmaster, Mr Tottman. We also heard speeches from our History Club and Heads of School, and enjoyed a performance from the lead cast of our outstanding recent production of Les Misérables.

Throughout the day, pupils shared their special memories and experiences by adding them to the Dunottar Memory Tree, creating a wonderful collection of reflections from across the school community.

The celebrations continued with a variety of traditional garden games, including jump rope, a coconut shy, giant Connect Four, and much more. It was a wonderful day filled with fun, reflection, and community spirit as we marked this historic occasion together.

Here’s to the next 100 years of Dunottar School!
